My New Obsession:
I’m ADHD and autistic, I got double hyperfixation power. My main hyperfixation has been, and always will be, legend of Zelda, but I always get other side obsessions. I got a new one..
True Crime.
It kinda sucks to be really into true crime because I can’t talk about murder, and the psychology behind serial killers, without people looking at me like I’m insane. I got really lucky, I was just curious one day, and I listened to the ideal true crime episodes in order, because if I had listened to the kind of stuff I can handle now a few months ago, I would have been scared away: SO for those who want to jump into True Crime without getting insane anxiety I want to reccomend the following cases
(Note Crime Junkie and 48 hours are a ideal beginner podcast for new True Crime fans, but my favorite is Morbid)
The following cases can all be found on Morbid: The bEst true crime podcast
These murders are less violent, while they still have all the compelling parts of true crime. So here y’all go.
“Jolly Jane” Toppan
Lizzie Halliday
Murder in House Gucci
Tillie Klimek
The Antifreeze Murders
Anna George and the Murder of George Saxton
Nellie May Madison
Fred and Dolly Oesterreich
H.H Holmes (least light of all of these but facinating)
If yall think you can handle more heavy stuff than I recommend these cases (from the Same Podcast, I’ll put a star by the more expicitly brutal ones)
Ted Bundy*
The Vilisca Axe Murders
The Watts Family Murders
Jack the Ripper (this one is hard just so you know)*
Dennis Rader (BTK)*
Ed Kemper*
The LuLuLemon Murders
Gary Ridgeway*
The Slenderman Stabbing
The Twilight Murders
Ian Brady and Myra Hindley
Charles Manson*
But yeah, true crime is facinating, being into true crime doesn’t mean I worship serial killers, I hate them, it doesn’t mean I like murder, I hate murder. I just find it facinating in some way of morbid curiosity.
Plus it helps me feel less anxious (ironically you’d think it would be more) because I feel more prepared yk?
Anyways, see ya’ll, let me know if you guys have any new recent obsessions or if you want me to give more podcast/case recommendations, I’m also into cults and haunted places.
