How keen are you on politics and geopolitical issues rn?

Most of what I know come from scrolling ig but I do follow and look out for major changes…….

I’ve heard of people say…. only the privileged can say that they’re not interested in politics since It doesn’t work against them….. and it has somehow stuck with me.

Like i genuinely couldn’t care less about two old men and their stupid mind games but I might need to listen now cause their ineligible debates seem to somehow decide my life

So yeaaa…. I still don’t really care honestly lol….. but I have come to realize that you can’t just ignore politics just cause its annoying and boring

While I find the news and state the world not just the US but also definitely the US, incredibly depressing. I try to balance watching the new with trying to enjoy my life as long as I can. So I watch and keep up with the news 5 days a week. I decompress the other 2 days.

I try to do my part by not being a bigoted, ignorant, hateful person. I vote regularly, I advocate, although i’m more comfortable with monetary contributions than being physically present. I contact my representatives when I feel strongly about things (calls and email ) I try not to bury my head in the sand but I also try not to let it drag me down mentally, which can easily happen with all the things going on. So I distance myself emotionally when necessary such

I don’t really listen or read about politics, I live in a pretty secluded area and we aren’t effected by them much

For me, keeping up with current affairs is a must; catching the entertainment value in other countries' news is just a bonus. I think it's important to consciously develop some dialectical thinking (even if it's not strictly necessary, the related discussions can be quite interesting). I consider this a sign of social awareness, but I definitely don't force others to do the same ヽ(￣ω￣(￣ω￣〃)

I rarely watch news because it's always tragic things or lies.. i just try to live without watching news too much :]
