Tyrants characters appear a lot in Manhwa, but when I say Tyrant I mean specifically someone who kills others without hesitation and will do anything to get what they want. I personally love seeing them as characters, but I definitely wouldn't like them as people. Plus they have to have some sort of redeeming quality too (eg, protects the people) or smthing like that.
I also prefer it when they kill for a reason (well irl I think most people don't have reason the do that but in fantasy I mean)
Like, best examples being Callisto from VADTD doing it to protect himself from assasination attempts, because that's what he originally though Penelope was doing, or Estian from AVFTT who has a curse that causes him to thirst for blood. yK?

Hmm I could only sympathize with that type of characters if it's because they have a backstory, a reason, or some type of depression/they're sick/cursed etc..Or they after turn into a good person, As you said Callisto is a good example of that!.....Well sometimes I still like characters even that they're villainous, a bit crazy, yk..BUT that only happens in Manwhas loll
I would not like to find someone like that in real life
I like the ones where the tyrant starts cold and turns nice. I dunno it's a nice why to keep the story going.
Actually there were some killers in real life who had killed for a reason. As much as I can remember there were few who kills their/ children's assaulters or to take revenge. Not every murder is cold and just to enjoy. Some people in real life were just victims beforehand.
Anyway for the characters I actually love them, them being able to make decisions without their emotions interfered are cool. If they're just the tyrant without reason, logic etc then it's not enjoyable to read anymore it's poor writing
