Chapter 77
Victor stood beside Anastasia's desk, sipping coffee. ‌‌‌
Anastasia was ‌‌‌tidying up a book titled "If That's How a Subordinate Looks at Their Boss, Then ‌‌‌I Don't Need One" while brushing away coffee grounds.
The coffee still looked hot, suggesting he hadn't arrived long ago.
"It's been ages, Namia Loapi."
He grinned and extended his hand with a flourish.
"Yes, it really has been a while."
I took his offered hand and replied.
"I ‌‌thought you'd arrive tomorrow at the earliest."
"Well, I rushed over to see you."
Victor answered with a playful raise of his eyebrows.
"Ah, of course I'm not starting work today—I just came to pay my respects."
"You came on a non-work day? Is something wrong? Are you ill?"
"Namia Loapi as a minister? I couldn't bear the curiosity. If this is an illness, it's already terminal." ‌‌
He held my hand and shook ‌‌it while laughing cheerfully.

Kibon was staring intently at our clasped hands.

Victor looked surprised as he scanned Kibon, then chuckled.
"Nice to meet you, Intern. ‌‌‌Since our young minister uses you as a Secretary, you must be younger than Namia Loapi, right? I'll speak casually with you. That's more comfortable for you, isn't it?"
"It's not."
The atmosphere instantly froze. I jabbed Kibon in the ribs and spoke.
"Kibon, everyone in this department speaks casually ‌to you—why are you like this?"
"I didn't say it wasn't allowed."
I finally sighed and turned to Victor with an explanation.
"I'm sorry, Senior. Kibon is a foreigner, so his Imperial language is a bit rough. ‌‌‌He doesn't ‌‌‌‌read situations well, and his culture is quite different...."

"Because we won't become friends anyway."

Victor laughed with amusement.

"I've made a decision just now."
"Yes."
"I'll become your friend and wait until you tell me what's troubling you."
